Prefix : COUTURENZ (Russian Toy)
It's with great pleasure and pride I announce New Zealands very first RUSSIAN TOY TERRIERS.
I'm so privileged to become the founder of this stunning breed under the kennel name of COUTURENZ.
A small family kennel, breeding for the preservation of my chosen breed.
I imported the first recognized Russian doll, Lady, from Australia two weeks before covid hit. With that interpretation out of the way, we finally welcomed her husband, Lord, also from Australia last year. We then promptly had a shot gun wedding, and their three beautiful babies arrived on Lord's birthday!
Our dogs are loving family members first and foremost!
A rare breed, largely unknown in NZ. RTT's are one of the smallest breeds in the world. They come in smooth and long coats - know for their distinctive soft feathering on ears, legs, and tail, with alert round eyes.
Long coat Russian Toy Terriers are also known as the Moscow long-haired toy terrier, Russkiy Toys, Russian dolls, or RTT's.
RTT's are very active and alert. Originally breed as raters and watch dogs, they still love to do their job today! This makes them natural agility dogs - small, agile, and extremely fast, they make great competitors.
Russkiys are extremely loving and loyal companies. They are very happy, playful affectionate and wonderful light lap warmers!
The first RTT's to complete in dog shows was recorded in 1874. Originally breed from English toy Terriers.
